Peggy Gilchrist has
paid her dues and now finds herself touring Australia with Lindsay
Butler and Shaza Leigh as a member of their legendary 'Butler Showband.'
LBS Music put their belief and trust behind the lady,
recording and releasing her debut album 'Queen of the Country Piano" in
2010 and due to it's success a second album was forthcoming by the label
'Queen of the Country Piano - Take 2". Peggy has worked hard to earn this title and
was proudly the
first female to record a full solo album of country piano instrumentals.
Peggy was born with
music in her genes, growing up in a musical family, her mum and dad, Dot
& Ken, brothers Bill & Rob. With endless encouragement and support, Peg
studied music and learnt the organ during her school years. She also
gained practical experience playing with local Tamworth artists
performing at charity shows.
Peggy went on to work
extensively with Lynette Guest, Patti Morgan, Christina George, Donella,
Angela Hayden and secured a tour with The Jean Stafford Show Band in the
early years of her career.
Moving from her hometown of Tamworth, Peggy then formed her own band
'Wild Dove' which became a very popular dance band around the wider
Newcastle area for several years.
Peggy is now seeing her dreams come true, touring as a professional
musician with her new album hitting the airwaves of Australia.
